Fuzzys: Positive Behavior Management
Fuzzys are a positive behavioral management system used by the second grade team. While we all do things a little bit differently the core system is the same.
- All students are given one fuzzy every morning in their fuzzy cup on their desk.
- Through out the day, students will be given more fuzzys for behavior that is positive in the classroom and will have fuzzys taken away for non-positive behavior in the classroom. During the first few days of school, as a class we will go over all of the responsibilities and information that goes along with fuzzys
- Once a student reaches ten fuzzys they are allowed to "cash" their fuzzys in for various prizes on our Fuzzy Rewards board. After they cash in their fuzzys, they will then put their name into our "Fuzzy Earner" jar. Once a month I will pull five names out of the jar and those students will win a dress down day.
- This system has worked wonderfully for all of second grade for several years. While we are always tweaking it to make it better, the core management system will remain the same.
